The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is p = 2a + b. Find the numerical value of a if p = 10 and b = 3.

p = 2a + b
10= 2a + 3
2a = 10-3
a = 7/2 = 3.5


Therefore, numerical value of a is 3.5
