Find the length of a toolbox with a volume of 651 cubic inches, the width of 7 inches, and the height of 15 1/2 inches.

the length is 6 inches.

volume=length*width*height, so you have to work that backwards to find the length.
multiply the width by the height: 7*15.5=108.5
divide the volume by that answer, as it will give you the length necessary for the volume to be 651 inches cubed: 651/108.5=6
6 inches is the length.
