Mitosis and cytokinesis produces two genetically identical daughter cells, whereas binary fission produces genetically diverse daughter cells. Cells produced during mitosis and cytokinesis are used for sexual reproduction in eukaryotes, whereas prokaryotes use binary fission to produce sex cells.
